With a bit of extra spare time this week, I decided it was more than time to include Zinnia in on the tradition of annual birthday shirts (thankfully her party was delayed a week due to everyone's nutty summer schedules). The cute girl absolutely loves orange, so I was on the hunt for either an orange shirt or some cute orange fabric... and of course I found both, so needed to make two shirts (perfect for a doubly precious girl).
The orange shirt gave me a good chance to use up some of the extra zebra fabric that I've acquired over the past year. All along, I was planning to make the "Z" out of the orange fabric so that people wouldn't make the assumption that it was a "Z for Zebra" shirt. But, as it so often happens with me, I started tracing and cutting before my brain had the chance to catch up and the whole project was done before I realized my mistake. So, a "Z for Zebra" shirt it is. Whatever.
I have no idea what these hearts on the back will look like when they're worn, but I thought they were a cute touch. Zinnia's quite particular about her clothes (what 2yo isn't?) so I might never get the chance to see her in either of these, but they were fun to make nonetheless!
