karaoke + money for the kids = awesome

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to co-host a fundraiser for Avery's arts-focused middle school tonight with some fabulous partners in crime.  One of those lovely ladies happens to be the manager of The Bing Lounge so we were able to use the space to throw a fabulous karaoke party with professional equipment and the choice of any song you could ever imagine. While all the singing was going on, there was a small silent auction to help raise money for some extra math enrichment.  The most amazing thing about throwing this type of event for this particular school?  The talent is unbelievable and no one is the least bit shy about getting up on stage to perform.  I wish I could bottle the energy that was on display; there's no way to properly describe it.

This 8th grader's voice is a-ma-zing!
This dad said his son promised to sing if he went first.  The son disagreed.

Yellow Submarine even got the principal up on stage
