final skirt post, promise

I read somewhere that once you know what you're doing, these simple skirts could be completed in about 45 minutes.  I've never even come close to that time, but after my marathon morning of sewing on Friday, I was pretty sure I could crank out the skirt I had planned for Josie for Christmas in a reasonable amount of time... and I really didn't want the fabric to just sit there unused.  So, I got to work early this morning and got this puppy finished in 44 minutes.  Booyah.

This cute coordinated drawstring bag took another 12 to whip up.

I'm quite pleased with the number of handmade gifts I'll be giving this year, but at the rate I'm going with my shopping, these might be the only two things Josie gets this Christmas.  Cannot for the life of me think of gift ideas for that child.

I love all your skirt project posts. Keep on posting them! (other than the fact you've used up all that fabric now.)

I actually "need" to make a fabric depot run this next week.

I feel like EVERY one of my friends with 5yos is stumped for Christmas this year. Seems like it would be such an easy age yet somehow, nothing is clear to me either.

Gift idea #1 - riding lessons

I love the skirts and the drawstring bag, too.

I seriously need to come to PDX for fabric shopping. I thought part of this move would include better access to fabric. Wrong. Very wrong.

I've adopted the theme of warmth for Christmas, so handknit slippers and mittens, wool long johns, etc. Perhaps yours could be horses? Although now you made that skirt and it doesn't go with your theme. Hmmm.

I've never been do this Fabric Depot you speak of. However, I need to use the many fabrics I already have on SOMETHING before I do a trip there. Perhaps a trip there will be my reward for doing any sewing at all.
